Finally! A post again! :)

Well, we have been quite busy lately.... we put our house on the market and had a full price offer within two and a half weeks. Praise God! We scrambled to find a house to buy as we had one month till our closing date and we found a sweet little two story in a quaint town. Perfect. Settlement went through on both properties and we packed, hauled and unpacked all of our things. Shew! :) What a job! Then began the process of making it ours. You see, it had wall paper border in each of the three bedrooms. And a super TINY kitchen... with no dishwasher... except for yours truly. And one small bathroom, upstairs and through the master bedroom. Thankfully, it also had an extra dining room and well, who needs two? So we began the process of converting one of those rooms into our new kitchen. And we are very much still in the beginning stages but knowing my hubby, it won't be long! We plan to add a half bath and a laundry room in the existing small kitchen area. Our first project was to paint all the walls, trim and built-in cabinets in our dining room that we are keeping as a dining room and I am here today to post some pics!! :) Enjoy...

After furniture and new chandelier- before paint...
After paint :)  Only a few finishing touches left to put on

Photo Blocks

These things are so cute and fairly easy, if not time consuming, to make :)
Simply purchase any size of unfinished wooden blocks, available at Michael's and collect an assortment of small photos, coordinating scrapbook papers, mod podge and craft glue. I chose to print some cutesy sayings onto some sheets of scrapbook paper. Trace block shape onto photos and papers and cut out. Glue onto the blocks. Sand around the edges and coat with mod podge. And there you have it! :)

It must be party season- I have another party post!

So over the weekend, I organized a benefit garden tea party to raise funds for a friend in need. It was held at the home of a friend of mine who is so generous with her lovely back yard and allowing others to use it :) I had lots of help setting up, tearing down, making and replenishing food and I thoroughly enjoyed planning every little detail. Here's a sneak peek and a bit of inspiration in case you want to plan your own girls night out :)
